The Challenge
Sports facility operators were managing bookings via WhatsApp groups, paper ledgers, and phone calls. Double-bookings were common, revenue was leaking through no-shows, and there was no way to surface or monetise premium slots. Players had no reliable way to discover, book, or pay for courts in their area.
Our Solution
We built a React Native app and an operator web portal backed by a real-time booking engine. The system handles concurrent slot locking, automated payment collection via Stripe, SMS/push reminders to reduce no-shows, and a community layer for players to find teammates and join pickup games. Venue operators get a full analytics dashboard for occupancy, revenue, and peak-hour visibility.
Results
PlayPal launched in 3 cities and reached 40,000 active users in 8 months. Venue operators reported a 42% reduction in no-shows after automated reminder flows were enabled. Average venue revenue increased by 28% in the first quarter post-launch due to dynamic pricing for peak slots.
